Our sun. The primary source of FUNergy for an entire planet. It takes extraordinary courage to challenge the sun. But these are no ordinary people. These are runners. And runners do extraordinary things.
Like running.
Even when they’re not being chased.
As our sun set on this warm July evening, the Department of FUNergy welcomed over 4500 runners across the finish line of the Life Time Fitness Torchlight 5k. They had raced from the Basilica of Saint Mary, through downtown Minneapolis, along Hennepin Avenue, and across the Mississippi River to Father Hennepin Bluffs Park at St. Anthony Main, where high-fives and good times awaited.
Plenty of Salted Nut Rolls were on hand to power the after-party. And as the cover band covered and runners un-runned, eager participants helped themselves to buttons, stickers, t-shirts and spirited competition.
Adversaries faced-off at our LED-powered Salted Nut Hole, tossing bags for the chance to take home a King-Size bar. Every half-hour, a 5lb. Salted Nut Roll was given away to the winner of Nutterschlagen: a game as much a matter of skill as that of chance and the Wheel of Hammers.
With so much FUNergy on reserve to light up our night, who needs the sun?
Well, peanuts do. And nougat and caramel, probably.
